Gorebridge and Roslin are former mining villages in Midlothian that have grown substantially with new housing over the past two decades, alongside neighbouring Newtongrange and Rosewell. Roslin is best known for Rosslyn Chapel, and its older stone cottages near the village centre often have original narrow-bore pipework and ageing heating systems dating back generations.
