We cover the eastern side of West Lothian around Broxburn and Uphall, from East, West and Main Street in Broxburn to Uphall Main Street, Uphall Station and Dechmont, north to the fast-growing Winchburgh developments, and east to Newbridge and the industrial estates near the M8 and M9. The housing is mixed. Broxburn and Uphall have older stone and brick terraces and former miners’ rows near the town centres, and large post-war and 1970s–90s estates on the edges. Winchburgh and parts of Broxburn have brand-new estates with combi boilers, plastic push-fit pipework and plastic drainage. Newer homes can develop leaks at push-fit joints hidden in walls and floors. Older homes are more likely to have seized stopcocks and ageing copper pipework.
Hidden leaks in new-build homes. In Winchburgh and the newer Broxburn estates, a push-fit joint can slowly weep inside a stud wall or under a floor. The first sign may be a damp patch, a lifting floor or a combi that keeps losing pressure. We trace the leak with thermal imaging and open up only what we need to. If your home is still within the builder’s warranty period, check with the builder too.
Combi boiler faults. No heating, no hot water, low pressure and frozen condensate pipes in a cold snap are the most common boiler calls here. Our Gas Safe engineers repair all the main makes.
Blocked drains. Wipes, fat and, on newer estates, the odd bit of builders’ debris cause blockages in inspection chambers and shared runs. We clear them with high-pressure jetting and can camera-survey a drain that keeps blocking.
Industrial and trade units. We handle leaks, toilets, water heaters and burst pipes in units around Newbridge and Broxburn, including out-of-hours callouts when a unit is empty.
Turn off the stopcock. In most new-builds it is under the kitchen sink or in a utility cupboard. In older terraces it may be in a hall cupboard or under the stairs.
